Template Disassembly

The template disassembly machine will take one product and split the product into multiple products.

The template disassembly machine takes one product and splits it into two or more products. This component could be used to simulate any type of separating process from a Bandsaw cutting wood in a workshop to the pages of a form being separated in an office.

The colour of the component will change to show the current state of the component. Default colours are:

Yellow = Idle
Green = Busy
Purple = Blocked
Red = Broken

General::MachineLength, MachineHeight, MachineWidth

Used to set the size of the component, measured in mm.


Set the process index number. See Process Index for more information.


Set the product ID’s that this component is capable of processing


The process time for separating the products.

General::StorageColumns, StorageRows, StorageLevels, StorageMode

Used to specify how the component will stack multiple products.


The disassembly book is used to describe how to separate the product. 

Each line in the disassembly book describes how to process a given product. In the example below, if a product with ProdID 111 enters the disassembly machine, then split the product into three products and set the ProdID to 222 in all the products.The first column is the Input Product ID, the second column is the Output Product ID and then third column is the quantity of products to create (including the input product).

From the Eco3D Component Library load an Energy Meter and then load the Resource Manager.

Load a Pathway component and then use the interact function to stretch the pathway.

From the InLine Conveyor category load a “Basic Feeder”.

Load an InLet component and PnP to the “Basic Feeder” component, then load an Outlet component and place at the other end of the pathway.

Load the “Template Disassembly Machine” and place in the centre of the pathway.

Load the Anna component and place on top of the walk way.

Select the “Template Disassembly Machine” click the “…” button to edit the Note for the Disassembly Book. The component will take a product with the ProductID 111 and split it into 3 products with the ProductID 222.

Select the InLet component and check that the ProductID is set to 111.

Then run the simulation. Notice how Anna picks up one product from the Basic Feeder and takes it to the disassembly machine. The machine then processes the part in the busy state, shown by the green colour. Then the product is split into three and three parts are transported to the Outlet.
