Template Assembly

The template assembly machine will take multiple products and combine them into one single product.

The assembly machine can be used to simulate any process where two or more products are combined. This could be any process from a manufacturing process in a factory to simply stapling two pieces of paper together in an office.

The colour of the component will change to show the current state of the component. Default colours are 

Yellow = Idle
Green = Busy
Purple = Blocked
Red = Broken

General::MachineLength, MachineHeight, MachineWidth

Used to set the size of the component, measured in mm.


Set the process index number. See Process Index for more information.


Set the product ID’s that this component is capable of processing

General::StorageColumns, StorageRows, StorageLevels, StorageMode

Used to specify how the component will stack multiple products.


The assembly book is used to specify the required products for making the new assembly. 
Below is an example assembly book. In this example three products are required to make the new assembly. Two products with ProdID 111 and one product with ProdID 222.

The first column is the product id number and the second column is the quantity required. Each product is listed on separate lines.

From the Eco3D Component Library load an Energy Meter and then load the Resource Manager.

Load three pathway components into the world. The pathway components must overlap.

Now load two “Basic Feeder” components from the InLine conveyor category.

Load two Inlet components PnP each of the Inlet to the “Basic Feeders”. Ensure the ProductID is set to 111 in the first InLet. Set the ProductID to 222 in the second InLet component.

From the template category load the “AssemblyMachine” and place on top of the pathway. Check that the ProductID_filter is set to 111,222. Then click the “…” to edit the note on the AssemblyBook sub tab.

This note specifies the parts and quantities required to make the new component. In this example we will require two products with ProductID 111 and one product with ProductID 222.

Load the Outlet component and place it at the end of the pathway.

Finally load Anna component and place on top of the pathway.

When the simulation runs you will see Anna collect two 111 products and then one 222 product.

The assembly component changes to a green colour as it is in the Busy state combining the assembly parts. At the end of the processing only one part is transported to the Outlet component.
